PRESENT TENSE
To conjugate a verb in Korean you need to cancel the final part -다. For example, the verb 먹다 (to eat) will become 먹.
Then you'll need to put -아 or -어 basing on the vocal in the last remained syllable, so you will put -아 after the syllables with the vocals ㅏ and ㅗ, while you will put -어 after the syllables with the vocals ㅓ, ㅜ, ㅣ and ㅡ (so you will put -어 for the verb 먹다).
Eventually, you will have to add the particle "요" to make the verb polite.
PARTICULAR CASES
-
Verbs ending with 하 transform their ㅏ into ㅐ and just add 요.
-
When a verb ends with ㅐor ㅔ you only need to put 요.
-
If a verb ends with ㅗ, then the conjugation will become ㅘ.
-
If a verb ends with ㅜ, then the conjugation will become ㅝ.
-
If a verb ends with ㅣ, then the conjugation will become ㅕ.
-
If a verb ends with ㅡ, then the conjugation will just be ㅓ.
-
If a verb already ends with ㅏ or ㅓ, you will only need to put 요.
